With The Great Londini Meet-and-Greet less than 2 weeks away, we are all getting pumped up! If you're planning an extended stay in San Antonio, we wanted to highlight many of the amazing things the beautiful city of San Antonio has to offer! Listed are the top 20 things to do while visiting San An, enjoy!

20. Antique Shopping - If antiques are your thing, there's much to see in San Antonio! You can check out Ironside Antiques Mall, Alamo Antiques Mall, & Back Alley Antiques to name a few!

19. Buckhorn Saloon and the Texas Rangers Museum - not to be confused with the museum on the Brazos River in Waco, this museum is right in San Antonio at 318 Houston Street and features a saloon/cafe as well as the Buckhorn Museum and Texas Ranger Museum. They say the Buckhorn saloon is where it all began -- It is where Teddy Roosevelt recruited Rough Riders and where Pancho Villa is rumored to have planned the Mexican Revolution.

18. San Antonio Botanical Gardens - If flowers is more your thing, visit this 33-acre non-profit botanical garden where they are currently hosting a Steve Tobin "Rooted" exhibit. This garden has been recognized nationally for their commitment to outstanding displays, botanical diversity, education, and environmental stewardship.

17. The Legendary Bonham Exchange - In this 25,000 square foot nightclub, everyone is welcome! There are 3 levels to venture through and a massive patio that hold multiple DJs playing various genres of music including house, dance, top 40, latin, and hiphop. Sunday they host a drag show at 11 pm, and this former USO office turned nightclub is LGBTQIA+ friendly!

16. The McNay Art Museum - Looking for some culture in your life? The McNay Art Museum in San Antonio is currently hosting "Something Wicked" - Susan Hilferty Costumes from the theatre production of Wicked. They are also currently featuring "Home & Gardens" Lance Letscher Collages and "Artists Looking at Art: Michael Patterson Jr". Be sure to check it out!

15. Witte Museum - This museum contains exhibits about natural history, art, and Texas heritage as well as a "Science Treehouse". Their current exhibits include "J. Ferdinand McCan: A Texas artist Rediscovered", "Picture Your World", and "National Geographic's Monster Fish" among several others.

14. Have some extra time while you're in San Antonio? Consider taking a day trip (70 miles) to Fredericksburg! This Texas Hill Country town boasts "small town charm with big city offerings". This town is home to award-winning wineries, vineyards, and wine tasting rooms and feature unique shopping finds at the historic main street and warehouse district shops.

13. Need a day drip a little closer (30 miles)? Consider a day trip to Natural Bridge Caverns and Wildlife Ranch. The caverns explore 2 distinct cave systems. Choose from several tours like the Discovery tour where you can view "other-worldly" formations or the Hidden Passages Tours where "mystery awaits in every shadow". Also available are the Twisted Trails Tour, Adventure Tours, and Amazen' Ranch Roundup, as well as ziplining, mining for your own gems and fossils, or you can shop at Discovery Village and indulge yourself at Big Daddy's Sweets, Treats, and Brew (an old-fashioned parlor and general store) as well as the Trading Post that contains gifts, jewelry and a plethora of souvenirs to choose from.

12. San Antonio Missions National Historic Park - Any history buffs? Take the UNESCO World Heritage Missions Tour and experience the beauty and history of the great city of San Antonio. You will visit several of the Spanish-influenced landmarks on the river such as Mission San Jose, Mission Concepcion, Mission San Juan, and Mission San Francisco de Espada on this guided, half-day sightseeing tour.

11. Tower of the Americas - This attraction boasts, "the best view in San Antonio" and I'll bet it is at 750 feet! This attraction includes an observation deck, revolving eatery, stationary bar, and a 4D adventure ride!

10. San Antonio Night Tour - Explore the lights of San Antonio with a guided tour that includes a driving tour as well as a River Walk Cruise. You'll also visit the previously mentioned Tower of the Americas, and the tour includes a stop at Alamo Square.

Historic Pearl Brewery District - "Since its origins, Pearl has been committed to craft: stone masons, barrel builders, and brewers brought this site to life and boasts a commitment to quality and respect for the beauty of a job well done. This district contains chef-led restaurants, locally owned storefronts, cultural partners, and market vendors that deliver exemplary offerings with a commitment to their individual crafts." There is also a weekend market Saturday (9-1) and Sunday (10-2) that hosts a farmer's market with fresh produce. (Hint: you might even see DogMama there as she has an affinity for fresh local produce!)

8. Local staples - H-E-B & Buc-ees! If you've been in our lives on the Tik, you've likely heard us talk about these two Texas staples! Looking for food for your fridge while you're visiting San An? Look no further than H-E-B! Whether you need some Texas brisket or vegan fare, this store has it all! These grocery stores are HUGE and honestly if they don't have it there, do you even really need it? Also, don't forget to stop by everyone's favorite pit-stop, Buc-ees for some brisket, kolaches, or beaver nuggets...not to mention the souvenirs and gifts available! These are the biggest gas stations you've likely ever seen and if they do it...they do it up right! With the nearest Buc-ees to San Antonio being approximately 30+ miles away in New Braunfels (a "charming oasis" hill country town located conveniently between San Antonio and Austin, Texas that may be worth the day trip alone) you may want to keep an eye out on your road trip to San Antonio for a Buc-ees along the way! Don't worry...if you're passing a Buc-ees, you can't miss it - they are famous for their billboards that will guide you along the way!

Historic San Antonio Market Square - "The largest Mexican marketplace north of Rio Grande" offers a festive setting and features 0ver 100 shops of clothing, folk art, jewelry, pottery, textiles, and even pinatas. This marketplace covers 3 city blocks near the river walk and has dining available as well! It's such a fun place to visit and a local favorite!

6. Six Flags Fiesta Texas - less than 20 miles from the river walk, this thrilling amusement park is currently featuring Oktoberfest at 8 Festival locations throughout the park. With thrill rides, family rides, a water park, live shows, shopping, and dining this is a must if you have the time and want to stay entertained while visiting San Antonio!

Spooky Season is upon us: Haunted Ghost Bus Tour, Sisters Grimm ghost tours, ghost tour pub crawls, and haunted scavenger hunts - If you love spooky season, you'll be thrilled to know that San Antonio is considered one of the most haunted towns across the United States! You don't have to look very far to find a tour of some of the most terrifying stories in history...jinkies!

4. Remember the Alamo! - The historic Alamo is a must see while in San Antonio. This battle was pivotal in the Texas Revolution of 1836 and has been painstakingly preserved. Entrance to the Alamo Church grounds is free of charge and you can purchase a guided or audio tour as well.

3. Sea World San Antonio - An aquatic spectacular meets amusement park! Check out some pretty amazing looking rides such as Catapult Falls & Tidal Falls. Need spookier season in your life with a twist?! They are currently hosting, "Howl-0-Scream" & "Spooktacular" events! Need tickets? They have graciously donated 2 tickets to the cause so bid on them in our silent auction!

2. The River Walk - is the #1 permanent attraction in San Antonio and once you visit, you will see why it's at the center of TGL/TADSAW/Military Finance meet-and-greet! As the website says, "Experience the magical powers of the River Walk as you relax, play, and reconnect. Stroll the lush riverside paths lined with towering cypress trees, restaurants, hotels, shops, museums, and recreation spots. Soak in the history and ambiance of this authentic San Antonio destination." October 14-16 they are hosting the Fall River Walk Artisan Show as well! Don't forget to book a guided cruise and visit the Kallison Love Lock Walk Bridge where you can leave a lock of your own, it's tradition!
