Tomorrow is the day we remember
So, for all of you that know me well, you should know that this is an important night for me. Tomorrow is the day we remember. Tonight, is usually the night I try to forget.
But I have chosen tonight to remember those who don't get the normal recognition of Military Service.
The unsung Logistic and Trades personnel. Movies aren't made about the Supply Tech who has to break into a Fallen Members locker to sort out their kit before returning it to their spouse. Or re-issue uniforms because they are bloodied and then have to burn the bloodied uniforms. For the record, blood stands out a lot more on Desert Uniforms than our Temperate Uniforms.
Or the Air Crews who have to transport the Remains back to home.
I have never seen an action flick about the Maintainers who have to go recover a blown up vehicle and move body parts out of the way to accomplish their task over and over again.
No movie ever made about a clerk who decided to hit the gym on her down time and be killed by a random rocket attack.
I have never seen a film about military cooks who stay up way past their bedtime to put on a good meal for the troops who just spent a very long day out recovering a blown up vehicle and their injured/fallen comrades.
In war, simple day to day normal tasks can become very morbid and that will weigh heavily on the minds of those who have had to do those tasks.
To sum up, anybody who as ever served, IS A VETERAN!!
