Interview with Sir Veteran Guy
Truckbedpoet:Did you have a good time at the event?
SirVeteranGuy: Yes
Truckbedpoet:Did you have any expectations of the event?
SirVeteranGuy: I was at the cocoa beach event and was a speaker too. Seeing how that event went, that helped expectations for how the recent event was going to be.
Truckbedpoet:What are some techniques that help you during speaking engagements?
SirVeteranGuy: Think about the event I'm going to, write it out, and practice. Have been doing this for so long, and just do it. If I'm passionate about it there's not much of a technique.
Truckbedpoet:What was your turning point that helped you turn your life around?
SirVeteranGuy: 2018 when I was ready to end my life because I had suffered 10 years with drug addiction. I had finally just reached a low to where I was ready to end my life. I received tough love from a friend and helped me get through that.
Truckbedpoet:You have been on some podcasts, and have your own. What are a few of your favorite podcasts?
SirVeteranGuy: What Makes Us Fire, really good one, and been a while since i've been on one. Tier 1 is basically a top 100 veterans success podcast that was recent, have done 3 or 4 this year,Soldier salute 94.3 The Dude, little over a year ago.
Truckbedpoet:Who are a few individuals that you look up to? That helped you start your road to success?
SirVeteranGuy: Tony Robbins watching what he does with the community. Nobody specific really motivated me, I just wanted to do it on my own. David Goggins, inspirational speakers, and Eric Thomas.
Truckbedpoet:What were some of your coping mechanisms prior to your book? Besides alcohol/drugs?
SirVeteranGuy: Learned to do meditation, never did yoga, and affirmations. Use affirmations every morning and night, going to the gym helps, and listening to positive music on social media.
Truckbedpoet:How did you and your group help our event that some may have not noticed?
SirVeteranGuy: One thing for sure; brought a lot of attention through our social media following, veteran communities coming together, and showing unity. We also showed we are there for others and not just ourselves. We brought donations, helped bring light to what the Londini are about, not just the bullying, but also veterans, suicide and mental health.
Truckbedpoet: Any additional comments at this time?
SirVeteranGuy:Had a really great time, enjoyed working with londini, look forward to the next one.
Truckbedpoet: Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions today.
