Fun Friday

Good Morning and Welcome to another Fun Friday. Today marks the 1st day in the series I want to start of fun things to do in each state. Stay tuned with me as we virtually travel the US and maybe together we can learn some fun things to do on our travels. 

Today I wanted to start with the beautiful state of Washington.  I hope that you enjoy with so many things to choose from I chose 20 of my favorite things. 

1.) Pike Place Market- One of the few authentic farmer's markets in the United States, this hub of delicious scents, delectable eats and delightful personalities attracts nine million visitors a year.

2.) The Museum of Flight- Walk the aisle of JFK's Air Force One and climb aboard the West Coast's only Concorde. Revel in the history and heroics of WWI and WWII. Barrel-roll a Mustang, land on the moon, and soar over Puget Sound in a simulator. Experience the excitement of the space race and sit at the controls of the world's fastest jet. From the Wright brothers to the exploration of Mars, you'll find it at The Museum of Flight!

3.) Kerry Park- For one of the best views of Seattle head to Kerry Park, a small park located on the south side of Queen Anne Hill. A photo from here is Seattle postcard-perfect, featuring ferries crossing Elliott Bay, the city skyline with the Space Needle in the forefront and, if weather conditions are favorable, a view of Mt. Rainier.


4.) Washington State Ferries- these tours run roughly 2-3 hours and you get to see all the beauty of the Seattle area

5.) Mount Rainier- At 14,410 feet, Mount Rainier is the fifth highest mountain in the continental 48 states.

7.) Hurricane Ridge- A 17-mile stretch of winding road through dense forests and alpine ice-covered peaks.

8.) Sky View Observatory- Sky View Observatory in downtown Seattle is the ideal first stop on your visit to the Emerald City. Here you can map out your entire Pacific Northwest experience! Sky View is located on the 73rd floor of Columbia Center. At 902 feet, it offers the tallest public viewing area in the Pacific Northwest. The 360-degree panoramic view includes Mt. Rainier, Bellevue, the Cascade Mountains, Mt. Baker, Elliott Bay, the Olympic Mountains, the Space Needle and the city of Seattle.

9.) Snoqualmie Falls- Snoqualmie Falls is one of Washington state's most popular scenic attractions. More than 1.5 million visitors come to the Falls every year. At the falls, you will find a two-acre park, gift shop, observation deck, the Salish Lodge and the famous 270 foot waterfall.

10.) Manito Park or check out Point Defiance Park- If you love flowers then you will want to check out this English Garden full of arrays of different  flowers. 

11.) Deception Pass State Park-  If you're into hiking then you're going to want to check this state park out with over 30 miles worth of trails there is always something beautiful to see.

12.) Lime Kiln point state park- This isn't a lie: with over 30 miles of hiking trails, this park is one of the premier hiking destinations in the country. with a short hike to one of the many lighthouses.

13.) Leavenworth Reindeer Farm- Ever wanted to see real life reindeer well look no further.

14.) Seattle Aquarium- The heartbeat of hands-on marine experience and preservation education in the Pacific Northwest, the Seattle Aquarium offers fun, exciting ways to discover more about the amazing Puget Sound that surrounds you! 15.) Woodland Park Zoo-Nationally award-winning Woodland Park Zoo has sparked delight, discovery, and unforgettable memories for more than 120 years while teaching people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to understand and protect wildlife. 16.) Museum of History and Industry- The Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI) is dedicated to enriching lives by preserving, sharing and teaching the diverse history of Seattle, the Puget Sound region and the nation.

17.) Fort Worden State Park- This is most famous for being where Officer and a Gentleman was filmed.

18.) Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park- This national park is really a free museum that documents Seattle history, from the fire that burned it down to the gold rush that helped build it up.

19.) LeMay - America's Car Museum (ACM)- LeMay - America's Car Museum (ACM), named one of USA Today's 10 Best Museums in Seattle and KING 5's 2014 & 2015 Best Museum in Western Washington, is an international destination where families and enthusiasts gather to celebrate America's love affair with the automobile and how it shaped our society. The stunning, four-level, 165,000-sq.-ft. Tacoma, Wash., facility features 12 rotating exhibits, five annual Signature Events and serves as an educational center, hosting students of all ages.

20.) Museum of Glass- An international center for contemporary art with a sustained focus on glass.
