Mindful Monday

Good morning, we have made it to another beautiful Monday. I hope that you had an enjoyable weekend and took some time to unplug from your electronics and get back into nature.

This weekend I was out shopping and overheard a conversation between two young ladies and they were discussing how they needed to buy "these types of clothes" in order to fit in with all of the other girls in school and how they hated that they couldn't just be accepted for who and what they were. As a parent my heart broke for them because no one should make you feel inferior based on the clothes you wear or how you look on the outside. Naturally I lovingly reassured them that they were beautiful just the way they are and they didn't need to buy them just to fit it but to buy their clothes off of how beautiful they saw themselves.

This interaction prompted a reminder in me of a hard lesson that I had to learn that I want to share with you. I want to remind you to always be a student of loving yourself because too often we allow others to live rent free in our minds and dictate who and what we are. We should never be led or persuaded to be or act a certain way to fit in, and we never need to judge our storms off someone else's either. You never know what chapter of someone's life  you walked in on so before you judge, ask yourself what you can do to help them better themselves.

Study yourself and become your own mentor and best friend. When you are suffering, stay at the bottom until you find out who you are and let the storms come and pass. How you walk through the fire says a lot about you. Nobody likes a victimhood mentality and what happened to you is not important. It is about how you use your chaos that matters. Don't give up now the dawn will come.

I hope that you have found value in this message and I hope that you have the most amazing day. I look forward to seeing you next week , remember to always be kind as it costs nothing.  If you see someone without a smile give them yours you really don't know whose life you could change.
